Welcome to Fine Tune Your Body

This is a site designed to be a resource for anyone at all interested in developing their body. It is a 'work in progress' so bookmark this page and check back often. The intention is to expand this site into many areas of interest and applications. We will also look at ways of having other people offer their insights and ideas.

There are quite a few Feldenkrais exercises (lessons as we call them) available on this site and many more to come. The Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method utilizes a few principles. It is most commonly used as a means of attending to a persons quality of movement. To do this the Feldenkrais Method focuses on skeletal alignment. In particular a Feldenkrais Practitioner observes this skeletal alignment in the context of function.

The applications of the Feldenkrais Method are many and varied. The Feldenkrais Method can make a contribution to how you move, acquire new skills (physical and otherwise), how you think, refining your skills, improving health and well being, improving capacity with physical disabilities, physical qualities such as balance and much more. Feldenkrais is extremely versatile.

If the body and mind are involved than the Feldenkrais Method probably can help in some way. It is primarily known as a system of movement and improving how we organise ourselves in movement. It is also a philosophy of learning and it is this aspect that makes it so versatile. You could adapt the model to learning how to play chess for example as much as improving a capacity to run fast or recover from an injury.
